Say it aint so but im finnaly getting health insurance from my work. woohoo, supposedly ots good insurance but im not sure on my pump and supplies, but I hope its good on that because my pump is way out of warrenty

Still Here

im still here, didnt drop off the face of the earth just yet. been busy working / babysitting , nothing is new on the D front.

so i go and buy root beer to drink last thursday and tonight I finnaly look at the can and lo and behold ITS REGULAR NOT DIET. There is only 45 grams of sugar but not to mention my sugar is 350 but thats can be from the spaghetti I ate and not testing before dinner

Co Workers

Ok. I thought I had some good co workers but now they are hounding me on the things I eat on break. I been trying hard to eat something healthy like granola cereal and fruit or bagels, but I like to eat a cookie once in awhile and When I do they yell. Escpecially this one guy who is in his 60's and has type 2 and on Pills. He just chewed me out because he saw me eating cookes even after I had a roast beef sandwhich and he went on and on bout how he was higher then normal this morning and he was mad because he didnt do anything to be high


I know I should speak up but I feel if I do they will get madder. What do you Suggest or Do??

even after eating I was 104 and when I woke up this morning was 164

1. What made you being and continue to blog?

I started to blog when I first saw they had an online journels. First it was to keep me updated on my friends that I worked at Camp with then it was to channel my anger and now just to see how others are dealing and living with the challenges thast diabetes bring you and I every day

2. If you could come back to earth as an animal, which one would it be and why?

That is easy. A Monkey. Because I always wanted one and they are cool. I can swing around in trees and be like my human self. I am always Monkeying around , HAHAHAHA











3. What is your favorite cartoon character? I have many favorites so here they go.

• My First Favorite is Littlefoot from Land Before Time.

• Spongebob Squarepants

• Swiper from Dora ( I dont like how they are always yelling at at him for being mean) So thats why I Like him

Ok this is wierd and tell you I really dont have a favorite. I would say Stomach because I love to eat and eat and eat and well you get the point

Jinxed

I think i jinxed myself saying my sugars been good the past few days when i last posted bout being sick, I missed work sunday monday and only worked 2 hours today because my sugar was in the HI range. I swear i took like 28 units of humalog today by syringe not at the same time , and I dont think its my pump cause I just put a new set in and changed to a new bottle of insulin too , so here it goes again , its time to make laura ticked

i been sick the past 2 days with the flu, luckily my sugars have been decent and i havent been vomiting since yesteday around 3am, and so far no hospital visits like last time

here is a book i been reading about diabetes and vampires. its quite a good book.

havent had much to say. i dont even know w hy i have one of these. Anyways i changed the template and added new links so enjoy.

12 years of Diabetes in 80 Odd Seconds

12 years gone so fast now i know why i cant remember the day i swas dx'd Am I the only one. Only thing I remember is these few things

• I was in the 7th Grade
• I wanted to go out for track and field
• I didnt have any symptoms of Diabetes
• I really didnt know what D was even though my Dad has it ( type 2)
• I had to get a physical for track
• they had us participants give a urine smple
• thats how they figured out I had D
• Sugar was 400+
• Had a blood test the next day
• Went back to School After
• I was sitting in foods class
• While evry other kid was drinking kool aide ( even the diabetic kid that was sitting by me)
• my mom came by and talked to the teacher ( mom worked in the cafeteria then)
• mom told the teacher that i had to go to the hospital
• I left
• mom went to the principal and told them
• I on the other hand called my grandparents to tell them I had to go to the Hospital
• They were not home
• got home and packed my suitcase and my mom told me I had Diabetes
• Dad came home and I cried
• I didnt want to go
• We went to the hospital
• I didnt like it at first
• Then I did
• Free Pop and Playing All day
• learned about D and gave my Dad his shot
• Stayed there for a week
• 8 yrs after I started on the insulin Pump
• 11 years after I was Hospitalized in ICU for 3 days and 2 days in a regular room for DKA ( in October 2006
• Now its 12 years . ( Remember I dont remember the exact day I was dx'd

I finnaly did it, I used my arm for my site. it didnt hurt that much and it doesnt sting so all is good.


Also I tested 3 times so far I been in the 80 to 90 range all 3 times :-)

Something New I Like

There is something new that I am getting to enjoy more then Diet Pepsi. Its the Minute Maid Light Juices. I escpecially like Raspberry Passion. I drank the who half gallon 5 minutes after I bought it, They have others but my store where I work only sales the Raspberry Passion and Lemonade and the Light OJ ( which I am afraid to try because of the thought of my sugar going even though it has 13 grams of sugar and or Carbs . I cant Remember).

Help On Insulin Pumps

Does Anyone know I can get a free pump / reduced cost or any pump companies help people who are uninsured to obtain a free or reduced insulin pump. I am pretty sure that my pump is out of warrenty and im afraid if it breaks ( I hoping it doesnt) I will be back on injections

Ticked Off To The Point Of No Return

I am so ticked off that im sure i will explode anyminute now

All because I got denied AGAIN for health insurance even though i have bills comming out of the wazoo and bills consisting of over 5,000 dollars, from when I was in the Hospital because of DKA. How can one deny a person who has a chronic illness and needs medication and has bills like I do. They say its all because I make TOO MUCH FREAKIN MONEY. Thats to me is Bullshit. I cant even pay my freakin bills from my paycheck. grrr
